Leadership and Staff
The Chief Executive Officer and Head of School, Kirk Gaddy, has a doctorate in
educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Education
in Curriculum Development and Instruction from Loyola College in Maryland, as
well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola College in Maryland. Dr. Gaddy was
a teacher and an administrator in inner-city Catholic Schools for 22 years. He
is a former president of the Elementary School Principals Association of the
Archdiocese of Baltimore, and was a teacher trainer and member curriculum and
strategic plan committee for Catholic Schools. Carl Stokes serves as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Stokes is a long time advocate for the improvement of education for Baltimore City school children. He served in Baltimore City Council for the 2nd district from 1987-1995 and was appointed to the Baltimore City New Board of School Commissioners in 1997.
The founders of BDJ STEM include Dr. Gaddy, Mr. Stokes, Edwin Johnson, a former elected official and Kevin Parson, a long-time Baltimore City public schools administrator.
